As the Scout organisation is a registered charity, it legally needs to have some people who sit on a committee for each group as a secretary, treasurer and chairman as a minimum requirement. Areley Kings Group is looking for a few more people to join the committee and bring with them some expertise to help run the group.

Why join the committee? Being a committee member is another way to support the Group and make a contribution, without being a Leader… a bit like being a parent governor at school.

Who are we looking for? Ideally we are looking for anyone who has skills to offer such as legal or business knowledge – or just as importantly, building, plumbing or electrical knowledge – because apart from the people who make up the Group, we have the Scout Hut building itself. So if the pipes freeze or the roof blows off it would be good to have some knowledge that will help us!

What will committee members do? Attend a few meetings and offer help if possible. Meetings are probably about four of five a year… the timings of these are always flexible.

We are actively looking for new leaders to help run the Areley Kings Group. Being a leader and organising activities for young people is immensely rewarding and fun.

All the help, support and training will be provided – all one needs is enthusiasm and energy.
